Description:
This project is an examination of the relationship between the Native communities and North Bay as well as Native relations on a national level. This project attempts to dispel stereotypes and bring to light the authentic experiences of both Aboriginals and North Bay inhabitants. Specifically, this project looks at the educational experiences of Aboriginals in the city of North Bay , the role of Natives in traditional city institutions, and the role of Native institutions in the city of North Bay .

Description:
North Bay offers a variety of schooling options: Catholic, public, and private elementary and secondary schools service the city as do post secondary institutions such as Canadore College and Nipissing University . Because education is so prevalent in this community, it is important to record and preserve the educational experiences of teachers and students. This project examines the experiences of both teachers and students, as well as the dynamics of the classroom and various social trends. An additional emphasis is placed on cross-generational themes as well as gender related issues.

This project is an examination of the impact that the oldest store in North Bay has on the community. This project looks at the social, economic, and cultural changes within both the store and the larger community. A detailed history of the DeMarco's is created as well as the impressions it has left upon the town as a whole. Interviews were conducted with both the proprietors of DeMarco's and the townspeople who regularly frequent the store.

This project sought to obtain information that is both accurate and thought provoking, in an attempt to dispel many frequently held myths within the common understanding of warfare. Interviews were conducted with WWII veterans who reside in the North Bay area. An emphasis is placed on examining the homefront, the recruitment and training processes, stories from the frontlines, and the eventual homecoming of the soldiers.

This project examines the impact of the arrival of CFB North Bay and NORAD on the town of North Bay . This study examines how the base shaped the economic and cultural atmosphere of the town, as well as how the townspeople felt about the base as a potential nuclear target during the Cold War. The project emphasizes on how the environment of fear was contained during these years, and how the base positively became an integral part of North Bay 's culture.
