The photograph shows the interior of a room filled with funeral wreaths and flowers, floor to ceiling, with an open casket in the upper right corner. The funeral is Anthony Scappatura's. He was the brother of Frank Scappatura and of Antonia Demarco. The room shown was in the Scappatura house on Worthington Avenue where the current Federeal building is located. It was not unusual in Italian families to take funeral photos like this, perhaps to send to relatives back home. Tony Demarco remembers his Uncle Anthony as having been a very popular man and as the first in his family to buy a radio, the kind with earphones.
